Good is Good, Great is Great
Updated: Jan 30
There are
times
in our
Christian
pilgrimage
when God
allows
the removal
of what’s
good,
to make room
for that
which will
prove
great.
The transition,
sometimes
transacted
in a season
of suffering,
often
isn't
easy.
It does not
look good
or
feel good
at the time.
In truth,
very
painful
the shift
can be,
though absolutely
necessary,
as only our
all-wise,
all-loving
Father
fully understands.
Good is
secure,
but great
necessitates the
Refiner's sharpening.
Good is
familiar,
but great
germinates
a deeper faith.
Good is
happy,
but great
effectuates
hallelujahs.
Yes, good
is good.
But great
showcases
God’s glory
in a way
that good
cannot.
And,
after all,
the glory
of our
great Creator
is what this
good life
is all about.
So. . .
fellow sojourner,
if the Spirit
is nudging you
to release
what's secure
and good
to make
room for
what's unsure
and great,
Or. . .
if God
is allowing
the transition
from the
good
that's safe,
to the
great
that's sanctified,
Choose to trust
His perfect
love
and perfect
plan.
