There are
times
in our
Christian
sojourn
when God
allows
the removal
of what’s
good
to make room
for that
which will
prove
great.
The transition,
sometimes
transacted
in a season
of suffering,
often
isn't
easy.
It does not
look great
or
feel great
at the moment.
In truth,
very
painful
the shift
can be,
though absolutely
necessary,
as only our
all-wise,
all-loving
Father
fully understands.
Good is
secure,
but great
necessitates the
Refiner's sharpening.
Good is
familiar,
but great
germinates
a deeper faith.
Good is
happy,
but great
effectuates
hallelujahs.
Yes, good
is good.
But great
showcases
God’s glory
in a way
that good
is limited.
And,
after all,
the glory
of our
great Creator
is what this
good life
is all about.
So. . .
if the Spirit
is nudging you
to release
what's secure
and good
to make
room for
what's unsure
and great,
Or. . .
if God
is allowing
a suffering
season to
transition you
from the
good
that's safe
to the great
that's sanctified,
Choose to trust
His perfect
love,
His perfect
wisdom,
and
His perfect
plan.
